The two parties will combine their strengths in perovskite photovoltaic R&D and satellite manufacturing to jointly develop next-generation solar wings for space applications, accelerating the advancement of space photovoltaic technologies.

The collaboration focuses on the innovative application of perovskite solar cells in aerospace. Both sides will jointly develop key technologies for ultra-lightweight, high-efficiency, and high stowage-ratio satellite solar wings, while advancing in-orbit validation and future commercialization.

According to the agreement, no fewer than 10 experimental satellites equipped with jointly developed perovskite solar wings are planned for launch in 2026, increasing to 20 in 2027, with large-scale deployment targeted for 2028.

Founded in 2015, Hangsheng Satellite is a leading commercial satellite company in China, with core expertise in small satellite design, manufacturing, and constellation deployment. The company has successfully launched 13 satellites and supported over 120 aerospace missions, providing full lifecycle services from satellite development to in-orbit operations.

As the global commercial space industry enters a phase of rapid expansion, demand is rising for cost-efficient and high-performance energy systems to support emerging scenarios such as low-Earth orbit constellations and space-based computing infrastructure. This partnership aims to address these needs by integrating advanced photovoltaic technologies with scalable satellite platforms.

Both parties will jointly develop an integrated “satellite platform + space photovoltaic” solution, accelerate supply chain optimization, and promote the adoption of perovskite solar technologies in commercial space applications.

Looking ahead, Yanhe Tech and Hangsheng Satellite plan to establish a joint R&D center for satellite solar wings, advancing aerospace-grade perovskite technologies and supporting future applications such as deep-space exploration and space-based power systems.
