Recently, Yanhe Technology and Tongwei Co., Ltd. officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to jointly advance the commercial application of HJT-perovskite tandem solar cells in space.
Tongwei is a global leader in the photovoltaic industry, with a vertically integrated industrial chain covering high-purity crystalline silicon, solar cells, and modules. The company has strong R&D and large-scale manufacturing capabilities in high-efficiency HJT cells and perovskite/silicon tandem technologies.
The partnership is closely aligned with the key requirements of space photovoltaics: lightweight design, high efficiency, radiation resistance, and high reliability. The two companies will collaborate on R&D, pilot production, supply chain coordination, brand promotion, and market development. Key areas include high-efficiency tandem cells and modules for extreme space environments, flexible solar wings, aerospace-grade validation, and in-orbit demonstration.
Perovskite/silicon tandem technology is widely regarded as one of the most promising routes for next-generation high-efficiency photovoltaics. Tongwei brings deep expertise in crystalline silicon and tandem cell technologies, while Yanhe Technology has built early advantages in perovskite industrialization, space in-orbit validation, and system-level applications. The collaboration will help accelerate the engineering validation and commercial deployment of tandem photovoltaic technology in space scenarios.
Introduced by shareholder SparkEdge Capital, this partnership with Tongwei marks another important step for Yanhe Technology following its collaborations with Hangsheng Satellite and Zhongke Tiansuan. By integrating core cell technologies, manufacturing capabilities, satellite platforms, and space-based computing resources, Yanhe Technology is building a full-chain ecosystem for space photovoltaics.
