Yanhe Tech has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hangzhou First Applied Material Co., Ltd. to jointly develop core materials for perovskite space photovoltaics.

The cooperation will bring together First’s expertise in photovoltaic encapsulation materials and large-scale manufacturing with Yanhe Tech’s capabilities in perovskite solar-wing design, testing and in-orbit validation.
The two companies will establish a joint R&D team to develop materials capable of withstanding atomic oxygen, high-energy radiation, extreme temperature changes and high-vacuum conditions. First will develop customized material samples in line with aerospace requirements, while Yanhe Tech will conduct ground-based environmental testing, solar-wing process integration and in-orbit validation.
Test data collected from real space missions will be used to improve material formulations and manufacturing processes, helping shorten development cycles and accelerate commercial deployment.
The partnership strengthens Yanhe Tech’s upstream supply chain and supports the development of a more reliable and scalable domestic material system for space photovoltaics.
Founded in 2003 and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2014, First Applied Material is a global supplier of functional polymer materials. Its photovoltaic encapsulation films have maintained a global market share of more than 50% for ten consecutive years.
